The World Syllabus Championships have just concluded, marking the culmination of an extraordinary week of dancesport at the Star Championships 2026 in Pieve di Cento.
Couples from 48 nations travelled to Emilia-Romagna to take part in this remarkable international festival of dance. Over several days of competition, the event brought together athletes of all ages and levels, from young rising talents to experienced competitors, all united by their passion for dancesport.
The Pala Eventi in Pieve di Cento was completely sold out, filled with an enthusiastic and emotional audience eager to support the dancers. Throughout the championship the atmosphere inside the arena was electric. Applause, excitement and a shared love of dance created a unique environment where every round of competition produced unforgettable moments.
The competition format offered a rich and varied programme. Amateur competitions filled the daytime schedule, while the evening sessions presented the most spectacular highlights of the event, including Rising Star competitions and major professional championships.
A particularly important innovation this year was the decision of the IDSF Academy to hold all Senior Finals during the evening sessions. This choice was made collectively to give these categories the prominence they deserve and to underline their importance within the IDSF community. By placing these finals in the spotlight of the evening programme, the event celebrated the experience, dedication and longevity of senior dancers.
This initiative reflects an important vision for the future of the IDSF:
a dancesport community where generations support each other — the young applauding the seniors, and the seniors applauding the young.
One of the most emotional highlights of the championships was the “All on the Floor” moment, dedicated to the youngest couples. The sight of the floor filled with young dancers — full of energy, talent and dreams — created a breathtaking spectacle that captured the spirit of the entire event and brought the arena to life.
Beyond the competition itself, the championships represented something even greater: a meeting point for cultures from across the world. Dancers, teachers, officials and spectators shared an experience that celebrated not only technical excellence, but also friendship, passion and the universal language of dance.
A heartfelt thank you goes to the teachers and adjudicators, whose professionalism, dedication and invaluable work ensured the highest standards of organisation and judging throughout the event.
The Star Championships and World Syllabus Championships 2026 have once again confirmed their place among the most exciting and prestigious events in the international dancesport calendar.
It was a truly unforgettable experience for everyone involved — athletes, spectators and organisers alike.

Si è appena concluso il Campionato del Mondo Syllabus, che ha rappresentato il momento culminante di una straordinaria settimana di danza sportiva allo Star Championships 2026 di Pieve di Cento.
Coppie provenienti da 48 nazioni sono arrivate in Emilia-Romagna per partecipare a questo grande festival internazionale della danza. Nel corso di diversi giorni di gara, l’evento ha riunito atleti di tutte le età e livelli, dai giovani talenti emergenti ai ballerini più esperti, tutti uniti dalla stessa passione per la danza sportiva.
Il Pala Eventi di Pieve di Cento era completamente sold out, gremito di spettatori pronti a sostenere con entusiasmo gli atleti. Durante tutto il campionato l’atmosfera nel palazzetto è stata elettrizzante: applausi, emozione ed energia hanno accompagnato ogni turno di gara, regalando momenti indimenticabili.
Il programma della competizione è stato ricco e variegato. Durante il giorno si sono svolte numerose gare amatoriali internazionali, mentre le sessioni serali hanno ospitato gli eventi più spettacolari, tra cui le competizioni Rising Star e le grandi finali professionistiche.
Una novità particolarmente significativa di questa edizione è stata la decisione dell’Accademia IDSF di disputare tutte le finali delle categorie Senior durante le sessioni serali. Questa scelta è stata presa collegialmente per dare grande risalto a queste categorie, così importanti per la comunità IDSF, e per valorizzare l’esperienza e la dedizione dei ballerini senior.
Questa iniziativa riflette una visione molto chiara per il futuro della danza sportiva:
una comunità in cui le generazioni si sostengono a vicenda — i giovani che applaudono i senior e i senior che applaudono i giovani.
Uno dei momenti più emozionanti del campionato è stato senza dubbio il “All on the Floor”, dedicato alle coppie più giovani. La pista piena di giovani ballerini — ricchi di energia, talento e sogni — ha creato uno spettacolo straordinario che ha fatto vibrare tutto il palazzetto.
Al di là della competizione, il campionato ha rappresentato qualcosa di ancora più grande: un incontro tra culture provenienti da tutto il mondo. Atleti, maestri, giudici e spettatori hanno condiviso un’esperienza che ha celebrato non solo l’eccellenza tecnica, ma anche l’amicizia, la passione e il linguaggio universale della danza.
Un sentito ringraziamento va a tutti i maestri-giudici, che con la loro professionalità, dedizione e prezioso contributo hanno garantito il massimo livello organizzativo e sportivo dell’evento.
Lo Star Championships e il Campionato del Mondo Syllabus 2026 hanno ancora una volta confermato il loro posto tra gli appuntamenti più prestigiosi e spettacolari del calendario internazionale della danza sportiva.
È stata un’esperienza indimenticabile per tutti: atleti, spettatori e organizzatori.
